The Grant Review Process

All applications will first be reviewed for whether or not they are complete. If not complete the applicant will be asked to submit the missing and essential information and materials. When the application is complete the applicant will be notified that their organization's grant request has been scheduled for trustee review.

When a proposal meets the Foundation's own interests, goals, and guidelines the applicant may be contacted in order that a site visit, or visits, be arranged. It is also possible that the Foundation will make use of e-mail to initiate with the applicant an e-mail conversation regarding the proposal. Not all applications entail site visits.

Grant proposals are accepted or rejected at one of the four yearly meetings of the Peabody Foundation Trustees. Following these meetings grant applicants will receive notification of the decision of the Trustees in a timely manner, and in writing. Unfortunately the Foundation receives many, many more grant requests than it can possibly fund. If we are not able to fund your proposal we do wish you all success with your project.
